Downloading Fonts

Please note that these fonts are suitable only for Windows machines, not the Macintosh.

Once you've bought a font, you'll be presented with a screen from which you can download the font. The fact that you've paid for the font is stored in our database, so if at any time afterwards you need to download the font again (for instance, the first download failed) you can do so.

When you click on the link to download the font, you should see a save dialogue box open as usual. Netscape Navigator users may see the dialogue box below - just click on 'Save file'.

Make a note of where the browser is saving the font (and change the location if you like). You'll need to get at the file to install the font. Most of the font files are very small. They should download quickly - if you have a fast link, you may miss the download progress bar entirely.

Once you've downloaded a font, you need to install it.

*Important note to Netscape Navigator 2 users

Navigator 2 usually saves with the wrong file name by default; change the file name in the save dialogue box before saving the font.

*Important note to Internet Explorer 4 users

IE4 loses the three letter file type extension to the filename. You need to rename the file to add .ttf to Value for Money fonts and Professional TrueType fonts, or .zip to Professional PostScript fonts - so a file called fontname becomes fontname.ttf or fontname.zip.

Note: the EFF Braille TrueType download contains two fonts and so is supplied as a zip file. Rename brl_tt to brl_tt.zip. For all other TrueType fonts, add .ttf to the filename.
