These are our ten favorite fonts that we think everyone will find useful.

*Script fonts

These give a handwritten or brushstroked look to your text. Some fonts have a formal, calligraphic look; others an informal look.

*Decorative fonts (divided into categories)

Used mainly for headings. Large areas of text can be difficult to read.

*Serif fonts (divided into categories)

One of the two main types of font. Characters have a small embellishment (called serifs) at the ends. Commonly used for large blocks of text because the serifs make it easy for the eye for follow the line. Choosing the right font gives your text an elegant or an old-fashioned look.

Slab serifs

The serifs are square (rather than rounded). Slab serif fonts often look heavy or imposing.

Rounded serifs

Rounded serifs are typical of most serif fonts. These fonts are suitable for large areas of text. Some fonts also look good when used in headings.

Small serifs

These fonts have very small serifs. For more pronounced serifs try the other types of Serif font.

*Sans Serif fonts (divided into categories)

The other main type of font. Characters have squared ends. Commonly used for headings and where you want you want a modern look (although some fonts are 80 years old).
